What is Microbotox?
Microbotox (also known as meso or intradermal botox) is an advanced Botox-based technique developed to treat fine lines, wrinkles, and in some cases even acne. For this procedure, Botox is highly diluted into a solution of skin-hydrating agents and then injected in small doses into the dermis, the inner layer of your skin, in various places on the face and neck. This innovative technique opens new dimensions of skin rejuvenation. The Microbotox ampule only penetrates to 0.6mm to release the skin modifying agents directly into the deeper layers of the skin.
How does Microbotox work?
Microbotox injections cause your sweat glands, as well as your sebaceous glands (which secrete an oil that can contribute to the development of acne), to shrink and atrophy; they also visibly reduce pore size. The result of these changes is skin that is smoother, clearer, and less oily. And since the injections are made superficially instead of into the facial muscles, Microbotox does not cause the loss of movement the “frozen” effect that regular Botox treatments can. Rather, Microbotox works just underneath the surface of your skin to fill out the lines and wrinkles being targeted, leading to a translucent glow that makes your skin look healthy and more youthful.
What are the benefits of Microbotox?
• Shrink pore size and lessens oil production
• Smooth skin & texture, and reduce fine lines
• Improve superficial acne scarring
• Stimulate rejuvenation and repair
• Brighten skin with pigment reducers
Microbotox is a 30-45-minute procedure that is done in the office by a Registered Nurse or Physician. There is no downtime or recovery associated with Microbotox, but some patients may have 1-2 days of swelling following the procedure.
Most patients see some results within 3-7 days after the procedure. The results can last up to 3-4 months, as Microbotox is NOT permanent.
Patients can receive this treatment every 1-3 months. Regular Microbotox treatments will produce better results.
This treatment results in youthful-looking skin and a refreshed appearance: without the drawbacks of other Botox treatments. Unlike traditional Botox, Microbotox is performed at a superficial level. This keeps facial muscles safe from the “freezing” effect commonly associated with Botox injections.
